Understanding the Patient Journey and Pain Points in Diagnosis
The Challenge
A biopharmaceutical company wants to shift patients indicated for their soon to be approved treatment from allergists/immunologists to oncologists across community practices.
The IP Solution
IP supported the development and execution of a three-part advisory board series aimed at gaining an understanding of the community hospital landscape and gaining perspective across a variety of stakeholders. The issues addressed included best practices for patient identification and management, in consideration of strategies related to contracting, Electronic Medical Records, burden of disease, referral and site of care, and testing.
The Results
Insights regarding patient dynamics, symptom assessment, diagnostic workup and mutation testing, potential areas of education, and distribution, access and GPO contraction were collected from clinical pharmacists, community hematologists/ oncologists and executive/community practice leaders.
The company was able to use these results to share appropriate data and improve the presentation of key information to relevant stakeholders for disease diagnosis and for disease management.
