POSITION SUMMARY:

Innovation Partners, LLC (IP) is a growing, high-touch biomedical consulting company that partners with a variety of U.S. and global clients to bring their oncology innovations and other products to a successful U.S. market launch and commercialization. The Senior Director of Client Operations is a senior
leadership role responsible for ensuring exceptional delivery of consulting services across all client engagements. This role oversees project operations, resource management, client satisfaction, and internal process optimization. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in life sciences consulting or biomedical operations, excels in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, and is passionate about building scalable systems that support company growth. This includes experience in project management processes, tools, and resources in supporting consulting activities of oncology, hematology and rare disease products. Must be proactive about leading and implementing efficiencies, structures and resources, and pitching in as needed.

  • Client roster includes innovators in oncology, hematology, and rare diseases. Core services and capabilities include market and payer access, qualitative and quantitative market research, and medical affairs and education.
  • We have partnered with our clients to support 95+ hematology / oncology brand development and launch strategies.
  • Geographic scope of client base includes U.S., Europe, and Asia.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Delivery and Relationship Management (45%)

  • Oversee operational execution of all client engagements to ensure high-quality, on-time and on budget delivery
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex client issues, strategic decisions, and high priority projects.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, fostering trust and long-term partnerships.
  • Monitor client satisfaction and proactively address risks, gaps and service issues.

Operational Leadership (10%)

  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine operational frameworks, project delivery models, and internal processes to increase efficiency and consistency.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate solutions for project budgeting, management, and reporting.
  • Establish KPI dashboards and performance metrics across projects, teams, and service lines.
  • Optimize workflows for proposal development, contracting, onboarding, and resource allocation.
  • Implement best practices in compliance, documentation, and quality management relevant to biomedical consulting.

Team Management & Resource Planning (25%)

  • Lead, mentor, and develop project managers, consultants, and operations staff.
  • Manage workload distribution and staffing plans across multiple active engagements.
  • Drive professional development and ensure team members are equipped with the tools, training, and support needed for success.
  • Collaborate with scientific/technical leads to align operational resources with subject matter expertise.

Business Strategy & Growth Support (10%)

  • Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning, including forecasting utilization, margin and growth opportunities.
  • Support business development by contributing to proposals, client meetings, and operational scoping.
  • Identify opportunities to expand or optimize service offerings based on market trends and client needs.
  • Provide operational insights for budgeting, pricing and financial performance analysis.

Quality & Compliance (10%)

  • Ensure operational adherence to consulting standards, including data confidentiality, regulatory expectations, and quality documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives informed by client and team feedback, project audits, and internal evaluations.
  • Promotes a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and scientific integrity.

EXPERIENCE

  • Degree required, advanced degree in relevant area a plus
  • 10+ years of experience in life sciences, biomedical consulting, clinical research operations, or related fields
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and complex client engagements
  • Proven success overseeing project management, client operations, or delivery functions aligned with market access, medical affairs, and/or market research
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant biopharmaceutical oncology/ hematology experience in a mix of agency and industry settings
  • Agency/ consulting firm experience (serving multiple pharma/ biotech/ medtech/ med device clients) is required

This position’s work environment is in an office based remotely out of the candidate’s home/workspace.

Up to 15% travel is required (approximately 2-4 trips per year)
