POSITION SUMMARY:

Innovation Partners, LLC (IP) is a growing, high-touch biomedical consulting company that partners with a variety of U.S. and global clients to bring their oncology, hematology, and rare-disease innovations to a successful U.S. market launch and commercialization. The Business Development function is an essential operation for the organization which focuses on developing opportunities for revenue generation through the identification and cultivation of relationships with current and prospective clients across med-technology, med-device, and biopharmaceutical manufacturers.

The Business Development and Marketing Manager position offers a unique opportunity to support an essential function of the business through the strategic implementation of business development and marketing initiatives.  In this role, the Business Development and Marketing Manager will interact with existing and prospective clients to identify and understand unique client issues and develop strategic objectives and project proposals. In addition to supporting client engagement and revenue generation, the Business Development and Marketing Manager will execute various strategies intended to support the strategic growth of the organization such as collecting client feedback, gathering client and competitive intelligence, and leading client communication initiatives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development (70%)

  • Support the Senior Director, Business Development to build and maintain relationships with prospective clients through live/virtual engagements, email communications, and identification of areas for new partnership/revenue generation.
  • Work cross-functionally with the Client Operations team to maintain current client relationships in collaboration with the Senior Director, Business Development, and identify areas for expanded partnership/revenue growth.
  • Support the Senior Director, Business Development to develop a target list of potential new clients and design an outreach strategy to cultivate new client relationships.
  • Support the Senior Director, Business Development to collaborate with department leads to develop client-facing proposals/statements of work including budgets, staffing plans, and project timelines for prospective projects.
  • Support and participate in opportunities for virtual and in-person meetings with existing and prospective clients and manage all related logistics including managing calendars, building agendas and coordinating attendees, managing meeting locations, etc.
  • Research and report on prospective clients and products in advance of new client interactions.
  • Review and analyze various information sources to collate client intelligence reports for internal teams.
  • Conduct competitive intelligence research as needed to identify client needs and market trends.
  • Lead and execute client survey feedback collection process in collaboration with the Client Operations team.
  • Respond to queries and provide updates proactively as per client requests.
  • Maintain records related to business development and update internal trackers/databases (such as pending SOWs, contact database, relevant data in internal Knowledge Management System, etc.) as needed.
  • Role will interface with direct manager, colleagues in other areas, consultants, vendors, and business leadership.

Marketing and Communications (25%)

  • Lead marketing and communication initiatives as defined in the annual business development and marketing plan.
  • Lead the development and execution of the annual client networking reception.
  • Develop and distribute email communications to current and prospective clients regarding service opportunities and company updates/communications.
  • Lead the development of corporate communications, including press releases, at the direction of IP leadership team.
  • Lead year-end process to engage & express thanks to clients.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop and post updates to Innovation Partners’ website.
  • Support social media strategy as needed.
  • Liaise with graphic designer as needed to update marketing materials and company collateral.
  • Liaise with vendors & consultants as needed.
  • As needed, support team members/projects and complete other tasks as assigned.

Team Engagement (5%)

  • Model Innovation Partners Core Values at all times.
  • Engage in weekly team meetings, quarterly team summits and other team/ planning/ strategy meetings as needed some via Zoom some in-person.
  • Prepare reports, materials, and presentations as needed for team meetings.

EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, communications, or related healthcare degree required
  • Significant (at least 5 years) prior experience in a Business Development or large account sales role.
  • Established (at least 3-5 years) track record of relationship building, account management, and/or sales experience.
  • At least 1-2 years’ experience in an oncology-focused organization/agency consultancy (such as pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and technology, advocacy, professional society, non-profit, hospital, etc.) with a network of professional relationships in oncology and/or hematology therapeutic areas.
  • Working knowledge of the business of oncology and pharmaceutical manufacturer operations.
  • Experience designing and executing marketing strategies and collateral, including developing communications and experience with marketing communications software/platforms.
  • Able to conduct secondary research to develop internal content such as client intelligence and background sheets.
  • Experience working within CRM(s) a plus
  • Experience developing and executing contracts/ SOWs/ MSAs etc. a plus

  • Experienced and competent in using Microsoft Suite/ 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint and Outlook)
